there is a parameter you need to add to your kernel when booting. fedora 11 has a bug affecting several graphic cards and their detection On 14/09/2009, brian Rioba <rriobs@gmail.com> wrote:

Run the command xvinfo to see if your card is detected. If it returns nothing, restart then at grub, use e to edit grub, e to edit the kernel... Line(2nd line). Add 'nomodeset' at the end, as one word and hit enter to boot. After booting, use the xvinfo command to check for detection of your card again. On 14/09/2009, brian Rioba <rriobs@gmail.com> wrote:

Sorry, i forgot to tell you that to make the grub parameter permanent, you have to edit/boot/grub.conf log in to the terminal as root using su, then gedit. Open the above file with gedit, and edit the line that begins with kernel and add nomodeset at the end. Otherwise you have to repeat the above everytime the comp is booting.
