Sorry, i forgot to tell you that to make the grub parameter permanent,
you have to edit/boot/grub.conf log in to the terminal as root using
su, then gedit. Open the above file with gedit, and edit the line that
begins with kernel and add nomodeset at the end. Otherwise you have to
repeat the above everytime the comp is booting.
