Is it just me or is the KRA portal not very useful. I misplaced my pin certificate awhile back (careless version of me) and had not recorded the PIN no. anywhere. I have tried to access it via the portal but as far as I can go it just tells me I have one without displaying it. . .Or I Will just have to walk to times towers? Mark, When you request for a pin number it is sent to your email, so if you used your gmail for example, you can just search for 'KRA PIN'. Good Luck
As long as you have the password, you should be able to retrieve it using I.E. . If you also dont have that, then send them email to make a trip to the nearest office and ask for ur PIN, they will resend you the email as well. Sent them email but it seems the only reply they give is a robot reply to the mail. If you applied for the PIN online, they they sent you your PIN with your password and signature(as a JPEG). This means you have no reason for talking about misplacing the PIN, unless you erased the 'KRA ITMS' labelled email sent to you. If the process of acquiring your PIN was manual, then pay the nearest KRA office or send an email to controlroom@kra.go.ke with all your PIN details.

Update us on how long it got you served and how (un)helpful the KRA guys were. The reason I'm asking this is because I got my PIn using the manual system, back in the day. When I tried 'upgrading' through the online system, I got a completely new PIN and went to Times Tower for erasing one of the PINs.(I prefered the manually obtained one since I'm more conversant with it.) They told me to write an email to contolroom@kra.go.ke with all the details( remember I was at Times Tower, I think 18th floor), and uo to date, no response - that was about four or five months ago. I want to find a free day, go there armed with my details again and wait for the response, with the hope of getting assisted once and for all. I didn't like the bureaucracy!

I got my PIN online and due to some glitch with hotmail, i lost the email KRA generated, so i really cannot comment on the manually obtained PIN, i, however, can tell you that going there in person cold prove more fruitful than any e-communication you have with them. I also think they got a bit of customer service etiquette coz they were nice to me...as I said erlier, it took me less than 10 minutes to get served.
