Hello Council, Have anyone of you purchase items on ebay before and how long was the wait to receive your shipment? Purchased an Item from a us seller, which was further dispatched with USPS (United States Postage Services). The tracking portal on the site says (Your item departed a transfer airport in Jomo Kenyatta Intl, Nairobi, KENYA on December 1, 2015 at 8:05 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.) However, the update has been stuck there for 9 good days now. I indicated all my contacts on the address I provided which were also placed to the shipment box. How does one follow up from there on. I tried going to Posta City square Parcels department. They have been searching 3 days now. Nothing. That is package one. Fortunately it has a tracking number. Package two was purchased and dispatched on the 18th November from UK Royal Mail. However, this does not have any tracking number and when I call them they say they can not raise claims with Royal Mail until the 28th day mark. Which is ok BUT brings me back to the question. How does one follow up from this end. With no tracking ID or any reference other than the address name on the package, and where do you start.?

Hi, By default the delivery for Ebay purchases is by normal postal delivery which takes a minimum of 30 days or less if one is lucky. I discovered this when I imported an item from HongKong which included the shipping charges. Luckily I was informed this by the seller of the item, he confirmed that at times there was no way of even tracking the delivery (this depends from which country the item is being shipped from). So what I did is that I have an account with DHL and the seller deducted $15.00 from the item and used my DHL account to send the parcel. I received the same within 3 days and paid DHL the shipping charges. Just keep pestering the guys at city square, sometimes parcels get delayed for unknown reasons (maybe it was sent to another town by mistake). I thought mine was lost for sure, turned up 2 weeks later. Regards, John K. On 9 December 2015 at 12:51, Peter Mugoh via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

In 2007 I requested for OS CD/DVD from Ubuntu (yeah, we used to do that back then) It was sent via post. Many moons later I got a call from a security guard at GPO telling me to go for my parcel. I turned up to find it's my package from Ubuntu. He was asking for only 200 bob which was more than my net worth at the time. So I politely told him he is free to keep it. He was so touched by my generousity that he just gave me the parcel. Moral of the story: don't lose hope. I remember some time back, around 2011, I bought an item from Google, shipped through USPS and surprisingly, I got a call from city square in less than a week. All I had to pay was IDF. I'm certain your package arrived but someone wants to eat. On 10 Dec 2015 6:51 p.m., "Bwana Lawi via skunkworks" < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

I did as advised by someone in here. Went to posta city square and was refered to the second floor, then later to the 5th Floor. Met a nice lady who told me to give her a day to search for it.. And a day later she calls me an tells me that she hasn't found it, to give her one more day and indeed she found it and told me to proceed to the customs department and give her a call. Thanks fellows. On Mon, Dec 14, 2015 at 10:04 AM, Benjamin Muraguri via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

@ Dave, was your package registered airmail/parcel or it was untracked. The reason I ask is I find untracked packages not finding their way to customs as often as tracked (registered) packages do.
