Any of you used the new Nakumatt Globalcard MasterCard with PayPal? Does it work without a fuss? Tired of my Equity Visa card, I think all Equity do nowadays is upgrade systems and launch new products, and little focus on the service. Called Equity for 20 minutes, the lady seemed to have difficulty querying my statements (I had to look for my printout and give her dates, yet she is on a PC) and at the end of the whole 20 minutes, had no idea what is wrong with my card. Mind you this is the second time in a week I'm raising the issue with them. 12 hours later, they are yet to get back. Called PayPal and in 7 minutes, they said my bank was rejecting the transactions. So before I open a new bank account elsewhere, looking for an easy to use, headacheless, prepaid card for use on PayPal and other online transactions. -- with Regards: blog.denniskioko.com <http://www.denniskioko.com/>

I would highly recommend the Nakumatt card. Have used it in instances where other cards do not work and yes works great with paypal. I closed down my card with I and M bank. What I love with the Nakumatt Card is I earn points every time I load it even if Im not spending at Nakumatt. Rgerads Kevin On Wed, Jan 8, 2014 at 3:36 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Dennis, For Nakumatt global card, its powered by DTB, top ups are done at any DTB branch or Nakumatt outlet. I have not tried the card but I tried Nation Hela which is still working under the same platform and had so many issues with registration alone leave. I finally gave upon them. You can use coop, I like their services and you have an option to do my pesa to the card. My 2 cent contribution here... On Wed, Jan 8, 2014 at 3:36 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

I bumped into this card while doing shopping there (I just hear about it though didnt have time to check), I applied, logged online, yea, I think its a good card. I intent to use it for my online transactions (business), acquire a second one for all my home shopping (that one stays with mom and will be "fed" money monthly). I will be trying it in the next couple of days and will provide feedback. Peter On 1/8/14, John Swekenyi <johnswekenyi@gmail.com> wrote:

I highly recommend the Nakumatt Global Card. You can also top up instantly via mpesa and that saves you a lot of time (plus it's convenient). An sms alert is also sent to you every time you do a transaction. KR, Joseph. On Wednesday, January 8, 2014, Alex Nyika Omuyonga wrote:

The Nakumatt card has two banks backing it. There's one you can load via mpesa and there is another you can't, depending on the bank backing your particular card. My card is DTB and if am not wrong, it's the one you cannot load via mpesa - I may be wrong but this is the info I got when I received the card. To me, mpesa was a non-issue as I wasn't so interested in that front ./Ok3ch Sent from my iPad

Got one as well last Saturday after my old smartcard got corrupt !! To me, it is just a big push by corporates as I only wanted a SmartCard and not a payment card ??? Furthermore, they ask for personal details in form such as phone number, address and even wedding anniversary, WTF ?? And yes, you get an SMS for every transaction, I got one Saturday evening that my card was credited with 4,300,000 Kshs !!! So I guess it works :) On 10 January 2014 10:56, Andrew Wafula <awafula@gmail.com> wrote:

Got this card from recommendations on this thread but from the terrible and absolutely incompetent customer care I haven't dared use it. The most attractive feature for me was the possibility of depositing dollars and thus reducing ksh/$ exchange hit, but turns out you deposit kenya shilings then convert to dollars in your online wallet thus zero benefit since they still use the banks high rate. If the conversion losses are of major concern, I'd recommend the I&M Multi-currency pre-paid card.<https://www.imbank.com/cards/multicurrency-prepaid-card/> Loading fees apply. They will be rolling out a Chip-n-PIN version in a month or so. Tony.

Hey guys, I use the Nakumatt global one powered by DTB and I can say this is a good one. The exchange rate is around 88 to 89.4 most of the times but what I like is the easy of topping up plus it is almost real time in alerts. I may also explore the CFC one, thanks for sharing friends. ᐧ On Tue, Apr 29, 2014 at 9:02 AM, Keneth Kingori <kkingori@gmail.com> wrote:

You may just have misinterpreted the info on I&M card (unless they recently sneaked in some new charges, or you are looking at making frequent top-ups for 'small-value' purchases) I've been using the card for a year now. Apart from the < KES 300/= reload fee, I've never incurred any other charges. My general practices are : - Reload directly the currency you wish to spend on. - Use the card mostly for 'large-value' purchases so as to render the reload fee insignificant - Check the balance using the online portal. Tony.

I have used this card for several months now, (The DTB) . I top up via mpesa, i use it on itunes and i have done 250usd. For Mpesa top up paybill number is 516606, then your phone number for account. So far I find it more convenient, total separation from my banking data, and considering how easy it is to get it.........

Funny no one has been bothered by the fact that you can't change the OTP (one time PIN).
