I've been with Zuku for 6 months now, service and speeds are great. Support over the weekends can be down, unanswered calls.
I'd be glad to hear if there's a better ISP in terms of speeds, cost and support.

The issue with most of these products and services is coverage. They are all cramped up in a narrow market segment. Zuku is within CBD,Westi,Nairobi West,South B/C Parklands,Loresho. Simon I find your derogatory remarks on Dandora a little strange. If James Mwangi of Equity Bank had the same line of thought, I wonder where the banking sector would be in this country. I have to agree with the rest on this one Simon. That was really out of place...I'm shocked. Just because people live in low-income areas doesn't mean they can't afford laptops or even desktops or whatever so that they would need some internet connectivity. Does that mean Internet users are only those based in a few select areas in Nairobi and the rest of the country? Umm, @Shiro and the rest. I apologize if I have stepped on anyone's toes or come across as being discriminatory against residents of Dandora, but at least allow me to explain myself as well. I have just looked at www.zuku.co.ke and I have seen that they offer broadband, cable TV or both products/services. I am not into television and entertainment (perfect nerd, I guess), so I never bothered to find out more about zuku after seeing/hearing that it's got to do with what I'd call TVoIP - TV over the net. I have always thought of zuku as internet TV plus broadband. So I eat humble pie and acknowledge that I made a misinformed statement. However, when this debate came up, I was thinking along the lines of - if I was running Wananchi, I'd target areas where there is a high chance of getting people to subscribe to my Internet TV service. I'm talking about clients who are reliable and can be trusted to be able to make due payments for the services subscribed for. Pardon me for seeing things this way, I see myself as a realist rather than an idealist. I don't know why. Anyway, I was thinking that taking internet TV to Dandora residents is not a viable business option, both in terms of potential client base and considering the security risks/costs that would be involved. This view that the area is not ideal for this kind of business has unfortunately been perceived to be patronizing of me to Dandora residents. Please note that that is not the case. Simon, understood your point. There is light @ the end of the tunnel. There is a project at the Dandora Catholic Church, sponsored by very nice families from the Netherlands, offering a cyber cafe to the community as well as affordable schooling for the basic IT programs introduction & packages. I believe that providers should be in a position to offer the poorest Kenyan who has the interest, affordable internet, despite where they originate from...this is what we all have being ranting about on this forum & any other. Hopefully we can have more of this sort of project also sponsored by the more affluent people locally. & Simon have a good weekend.
