Hi skunks, In the recent few days, I have kept on getting my public IP blocked. Essentially the scenario has been that users including myself can access the internet from the LAN, but cant reach my mail and web host servers. No emails as I am popping directly from the server. However when I use a Modem/Phone tethering, I am able to reach the servers. And when you invest in an antivirus, make sure you get one with active threat protection and gives you a complete visibility into the status of security across all your devices. The first step is to find out from the ISP why they are blocking your IP. There is normally a reason why an IP gets blacklisted. It could be spamming. If thats the case as advised ensure you have a good Antivirus on all the machines on the LAN and is updated with the most current updates. Does your mail server and www.realipm.com <http://www.realipm.com> use the same IP? If malware if going through the mail server it will also get the ip blocked Have a different ip for www and for your mail server and resolve the root issue of malware going through your mail server. It means that your ISP has blocked those specific ports from your LAN outwards. I saw this a few days ago with Safaricom while assisting one of the members here. The ISP (QB) CS guy gave us some explanation that I'd rather not state here. I cannot figure out why an ISP would block POP3/POP3S/IMAP/IMAPS ports from a LAN. Blocking of SMTP/SMTPS is understandable.
