I can (strongly) assure you that there is no content broadcast in 1080p in Kenya. It still does not happen in 90%+ even in the west. To broadcast in 1080p requires a lot of bandwidth and unless you are doing a pay-per-view then that can be considered. The rest is a mess. So basically all those TVs that boast 1080p resolutions are pretty much duds for broadcast TV purposes but for the likes of Blue-ray content then that capacity can be exploited.

DVB - T. Just realised that there are none on DVB T broadcasts in Kenya. Also measured DSTV for the HD channels and it is actually 720p, 1080i when viewing super sport HD but only if it is a live broadcast. 1080p must be damn clear then!
