Colleagues, I have this query. I have MS exchange 2003 functioning in my office. What do I need to do to be able to access my mail online for roving users? Current supplier not sharing the info like its a trade secret and I am feeling vulnerable... Essentially the outcome I'm hoping for is that when traveling or at home I can go to (for example - this isn't the actual domain) https://mail.alkags.me/exchange, sign up and do my usual outlook maneno. I have heard mentions of certificates, etc... Please advice. (i don't know why the suppliers think this is a trade secret...) There are many ways to do this. My recommended method is to see if your router supports VPN and configure it to do that. Then connect via VPN and use your Outlook - from anywhere - as if you are in the office. On Thu, Jan 27, 2011 at 2:26 PM, Al Kags <alkags@gmail.com> wrote:

DNAT is also a solution, not necessarily a public IP to server. But the router /firewall must be reachable on public internet. Wilson

You could try using RPC over HTTPS! I have tried it before with my Outlook running off an Exchange Server in Johannesburg and it was a breeze. Ohh yeah, and it was in the days of 256/128 Kbps... http://www.petri.co.il/how-can-i-configure-rpc-over-https-on-exchange-2003-s... A couple of things you should know; - OWA 2003 even with a secure connection is still vulnerable to pwning - OWA 2007 requires SP3 to keep it safe from this vulnerability - Exchange 2010 is pwn free ... so far On 1/27/11, Al Kags <alkags@gmail.com> wrote:
