Beware of Banton/Bruce Obwari

Good day folks, I hate to be going back to this as there was a thread about the above named person not so long ago. Despite all the warnings about him and his conduct on this list, I chose to do business with him nonetheless because I needed to recover some data from a faulty hard disk of mine. All I can say is that avoid the dude like a plague lest your fingers be burned. He comes out as a gentleman but he's cunning and dishonorable as they get. Just looking out for my fellow brethren and sisters. Rgds

Exactly what did he do? On 11/11/14, Anthony Lenya via skunkworks <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

@Antony, Its Just Kenyan... we only prefer to learn with experience... we dont like getting lessons from teachings by others or past experiences of others (which mostly comes from reading books/ articles or even listening attentively to others ...we just dont want to).. we prefer to be the ones doing the warnings, telling the tribulations, sending 310 to kanyari, chasing refunds from pyramid schemes and the list is endless... @geoffrey, that bit about devs saying "it works on my machine" sometimes can be true, for example, if my code is built on the latest and greatest version of PHP, then the paranoid sys admin insists on using PHP 5.3 on the server! PS. This is a lame attempt to lighten the extremely serious mood of this post, and not an attempt to excuse the behaviours of lazy devs. On Tue, Nov 11, 2014 at 12:06 PM, geoffrey gitagia via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

I have also had a bad encounter with a sales personnel on this list, who promised to fix my friend's laptop, only to return the same unfixed due to lack of "US" parts. Mind you, this is even after my friend quoted the part number in question and the sales person went ahead to acknowledge that he had the part in store, only for him to later say the part could not fit because it was a Kenyan part and not a US part! As far as I know, there's no company in this world which has one part number for 2 non-interchangeable parts, as my sales friend would like to me to believe. I have now suffered harm to my reputation as a consultant after years of building the same and I'm back to dealing with people I know and not people selling themselves here!
