Around this time last year the Bitcoin made the great leap.. no telling what will happen this year - although all bets are on the 1st quarter of 2015. Any pipe dream predictions? :-)

True.
1 week is like one year in BTC world leave alone 1 quarter...
I disagree. One year is exactly that to the Bitcoin the last time it hit the 1200 mark was in early December 2013, and that is only basis we can build a profitable trend on for such a volatile currency So if you Buy the Bitcoin today for 380 and hopefully by Thanksgivings sell it for 1080 less statutory deductions then you get your Bitcoin annual bonus, any other result would only seek to prove the that this digital currency is near impossible to predict. T - 17 to 20 days to go to prove this. :-) On Mon, Nov 10, 2014 at 1:49 PM, John Karanja <mauxdatabase@gmail.com> wrote:

Should we expect some action towards the end of June? Source: http://www.cnbc.com/id/102763842 ..."Grexit". The debt-stricken country faces 1.6 billion euros ($1.8 billion) in repayments to the International Monetary Fund <http://www.cnbc.com/id/10000936> by the end of June Scigala said over the past two months, with Greece locked in talks with its creditors, the company had seen a 124 percent pick-up in inflows from Greek IP addresses—numerical labels that identify computers and other internet-enabled devices. Bitcoin traded as high as $252.05 on the Bitstamp exchange on Tuesday, its strongest in over two months, before easing a little to $245.21, still up around 4 percent on the day. That marked its sixth straight session of gains—its best run since January 2014. Some have suggested that a bitcoin-like digital currency, backed either by Greece's assets or future tax revenues, could be introduced as an parallel currency to the euro in Greece in order to avert an exit from Europe.

Scigala said over the past two months, with Greece locked in talks with its creditors, the company had seen a 124 percent pick-up in inflows from Greek IP addresses—numerical labels that identify computers and other internet-enabled devices.

Thanks John. We're back to where we were a week ago (Now at 268) before the deadline and with the Greek "NO" vote. Despite the political turmoil, if the Greeks purchased the Bitcoin to shield against their currency weakening, then its done just that. What we could learn from Greece today; 1. Importance of setting up a Kenyan Bitcoin exchange within a framework mapped out by regulatory regimes. 2. Not to judge a book by its cover :-) - Yanis Varoufakis, the self-styled (former) Greek Finance Minister, holds dual citizenship (majority of his assets could be in Australia), carried a backpack (with a headphone lead popping out) to most of the high level meetings he attended with the EU, rode a bike to work , flew economy on more than one occasion and resigned today to allow the Government negotiate a better deal with the EU. BitPesa.co is currently an East African exchange working in Kenya/Tanzania already complying with KYC(Know Your Customer) and AML(Anti Money Laundering) regulations in both countries. Greece has capital controls limiting Bitcoin activity in that country, however it is true people managed to avoid the credit/cash crunch by holding Bitcoin. Its been fascinating to watch... Day trading the bitcoin still remains a nightmare with the trading fees but on a weekly basis it can work as a business. True that, not easy to day trade bitcoin without the assistance of trading bots and better yet prediction analysis skills. speculation is just the first network effect for the first application "bitcoin the currency" there are other network effects involving Bitcoin the protocol and platform. If you think of Bitcoin as the Internet of Money not just a payment solution you can start imagining a myriad of solutions that can benefit from the platform.
