Hi Roy, I remember setting up a cyber cafe in 7.10 and having issues sharing the printer (1020). I managed to do that by sharing the printer and (very fuzzy memory) assigning an ip to the printer such that it is available in the lan! Downloading HPLIP or a utility for sharing HP printers on linux helped. I cannot quite remember whether it was on samba or NFS........hope i have helped a little! I have tried using the different protocols (ipp, HP Direct, Samba) without success.

Anyone who's got this working or with any tricks under the sleeves that might solve this nightmare?

Create an entry with the server's (PC that is directly connected to USB printer) IP in client's /etc/hosts.
