Browsing using a Zain phone

I tried searching the archives<http://www.google.co.ke/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=site%3Amy.co.ke+zain+service+unavailable&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=>, but didn't get any information. Forgive my ignorance, I'm new to the market. I'm using a Samsung GT-S5233A to try and browse, and was getting "No response". I called Customer Care three times, and they say they've activated data on their end. They were supposed to send me new settings via SMS, and I'm still waiting. The only thing that has changed is the error message, now "Service Unavailable" in South C. No response from the customer care email address either. The phone is set to "Zain WAP"; Access name; wap.ke.celtel.com Auth type; Normal User ID; wap Password; <left blank, per Customer Care, new password doesn't work either> Any help will be appreciated. Asante. Erick

Erick, Try sending the word 'ALL' to 232.. Zain should reply with your activation settings that you should save on your phone. Worked for me not too long ago... On Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 10:10 AM, Erick NNN <erickarn@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks, Ndungu, your information resolved the issue. Martin, the SMS didn't get any response, but thanks. Dennis, when I change the settings from HTTP to WAP, I get the error "incorrect gateway address", which remains blank, but thanks. Also check the socket settings if you can see them. Make sure the socket is "wap" and Not "Http" , but Try Ndungu's suggestion first

I had this problem with zain when i first activated data for my zain line, at that time they had a technical issue whch after several calls to their customer care i found one that understood the real problem and adviced me to chill out while they were workng on the issue. eventually they did n after i week i could surf using my zain line On Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 11:17 AM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

I used to have alot of these issues on my iPhone anytime I removed the SIM card, and calling customer care always resulted in me being told, your data is enabled and there's nothing wrong on our end. After a lot of struggling, I found out that a jailbroken iPhone always loses its APN settings each time you remove the SIM card, and all I do nowadays is to restor the APN setting to ke.celtel.com More than half the time you have problems with data on zain, its the APN, and more that half of the care dudes/dudettes don't know this. ./Ok3ch On Thu, Oct 21, 2010 at 5:28 AM, Erick NNN <erickarn@gmail.com> wrote:
