Just after being named EA's best investment destination in May 2010, Rwanda has a first in Africa: http://www.africanbusinessreview.co.za/tags/rwanda/multimedia-services-premi... BR, S -- This message represents the official view of the voices in my head.

You know with these small Telcoms in places like Rwanda, they can have the luxury of rolling out any new technology they wish. If they want to roll out 4G, they just buy a few new switches and setup 2 or 3 base stations and there they go. I don't see the big news here, seems it is just a South African way of blowing trumpets for South Africa companies. Ever wonder why it takes large networks like Verizon, AT&T and to some extent to Safaricom to roll out new networks? It is a massive exercise. In Rwanda, it is child's play. I do agree...for large telcos it's a massive exercise, financially, in terms of human resources, and also the risk involved. BR S -- This message represents the official view of the voices in my head.

Theres this saying that goes around that Kigali is Rwanda and Rwanda is Kigali, in a larger context outside Kigali its synonymous with trekking into the desert seeking a swimming pool. Besides, South Africans are very good outside their country but inside? its slowly crumbling and yet they still beat us in so many things..... Phillip,
"I don't see the big news here, seems it is just a South African way of blowing trumpets for South Africa companies."
Help me understand something here which South African company is being trumpeted? Whereas smaller Telcos can decide faster and move with Agility does that exempt bigger ones from Innovating. Are we also forgetting that this is part of the MTN Group, is that a small Telco? Kiania D. On Wed, Feb 9, 2011 at 2:53 PM, Nd'wex Common <flexycat@gmail.com> wrote:
