If I were to upgrade; I'd go with LG. (I'm on a Sony Bravia LCD gadget) Reasons: - I'd be interested in going 3D + LED. - At the moment; it's the Koreans (LG & Samsung) who have better pricing - I prefer passive 3D technology (what LG uses) over active 3D technology (What Samsung uses) - Generally, the Koreans are pumping loads of R&D efforts into futuristic technologies; hence my inclination towards them

My preference would always be on samsung Smart tv's with the great picture quality and a pool of features not forgetting the best technology. Home theatre would be sony, great sound technology. Plasmas are good for watching movies but leave screen burns when playing console games..for me personally i hate seeing that when playing my games :-).If you have to go with plasma go with Panasonic..they have invested alot in that technology.If you want gaming i would advice LCD/LED TVs..and while at it,if you can top up the money..get a 3D TV..their prices are low this days,check Amazon.This is coming from a person who has owned both a plasma and an LED TV.
