Hey skunks Got the new samsung note 3 and it has a very irritating where I get full screen pop up ads telling me about visa's, equity cards etc. Now I have tried everything in my google settings to block ads but they are still there, now how do I completely eliminate them. For whats worth this is very irritating if at the end of the smart phone migration, this was to be the catch. I'm reviving my nokia 1100. ./TheMburu -- Conservatism is the adherence to the old tried against the new untried.

There are so many adblockers but most of them require you root your Android for them to work 100%. This works for me, zero ads ever since. ---- Kind Regards, Alex Nyalita On Thu, Feb 6, 2014 at 8:59 AM, TheMburu George <themburu@gmail.com> wrote:

It's an app that is serving Google Ads as pop ups. Check the notification area for what app is serving the ads, or well, try removing smaller titles (Apps not from the major companies) one by one until the problem is gone. You probably (or a kid playing with your phone) unknowingly installed such an app. On Thursday, 6 February 2014, mash lists <mashlists@gmail.com> wrote:

You probably (or a kid playing with your phone) unknowingly installed such an app.

Hehe @Claude another fan I see, just check "simple dilbert" on play store, its quite something & honestly was one of the apps i was holding to in the reset. I also couldn't replace the host file, did factory reset and restored two apps: whatsapp & applock then the pop up ads resumed. Removed applock and haven't seen them since then. I also found an interesting app (don't remember the name) that check apps permissions, for those with ads enabled it shows the source, apparently is highlighted app lock with the most network ads. ./TheMburu On Thu, Feb 27, 2014 at 5:21 PM, Claude D'souza <claudedsouza1@gmail.com>wrote:
