I think my Laptop is infected, I shut it down yesterday normally but today on booting two strange user accounts "Database" and"dxing" are created and they are password protected, My usual password also does not go through and that was the administrators account which was the only account with administrative rights. When I boot my comp from a KNOPIX live CD i can see my documents but this two accounts are not having anything in the users documents and settings making me a little suspicious that its a virus attack. I installed another operating system (windows) in a different hoping that I will get access to my saved documents but its giving me an access denied message. Is there any way I can reset this password to access my docs Any help please

Yes Liwindi, Look for Hiren's Boot CD. It has some NT Password reset utilities that you can use to reset you account password. But I would advise you to use something like EBCD or Active BootDisk, download mwav.exe from www.mwti.net and clean your laptop before resetting your password. Bueno suerte, S. If u have installed another windows instance in the same machine then u can access ur docs by changing the ownership of your old profile in documents and settings. Replace ownership for your account/profile and all child files and directories. On Tue, Apr 14, 2009 at 8:08 PM, Simon Mbuthia <simon.mbuthia@gmail.com>wrote:

Right click on the folder, choose properties. On the dialog that opens, go to Security tab. Click on the Advanced button near the bottom, on the new dialog that opens, click the Owner tab. You will see "Current owner of this item", then below it, "Change owner to:" Choose an appropriate owner, check the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" box, then click ok. If you have lots of documents nad your pc is slow, go make some uji. When you come back, click Ok on the first dialog box. Now try accessing your stuff. PS. you might want to do the above in the new windows instance. On Thu, Apr 16, 2009 at 8:48 AM, liwindi joshua <liwindi81@gmail.com> wrote:
