A couple of days ago, a friend told me that the Kenyan Embassy was evacuating Kenyans there(e.g students, workers, i.e the wanachi) on loan-term basis. The wanachi who were were returned home were paid for the ticket by the embassy, and they have to pay it back when they decide to return to Egypt.
Perhaps the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a better place to ask, than these techies. Better still, find one such evacuee and ask them under what terms the govt of KE evacuated them from Misri. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

What a name!, What a Kenyan!, I mean, you want to go back to Misri? On Sat, Feb 12, 2011 at 4:55 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

I don't know about other kenyans in Eqypt but just met a couple on my way in a few days ago. Last night, Cairo was amazing,-- Uhuru Kabisa--, people need to come and witness this. I can only imagine how KE must have been on the night of 1963, so much hope for a better future, yet uncertainty and a long way to go. I'm planning to visit Tahrir Square, if time allows. I wish Eqyptians in kenya all the best for a new hope of a new future! Happy Birthday Egypt! :-) I hope the new Eqyptian govt will make a monument in Tahrir Square to honour the defenders of freedom, so people can come to Egypt not only for its history but also the latest events which have become historical too. Asante. :-)

I wish we can have such in Kenya ... for the whole lot of leaders ... On 12 February 2011 20:43, aki <aki275@gmail.com> wrote:

Why do people keep comparing Kenya to Egypt? and wishing whatever happened there happens here Kenya is a democracy unlike Egypt,we may not like the "whole lot of leaders" but we are the one who actually voted them. And even if we riot and elections are held again,we will still vote the same people... question should be why we keep voting them On Mon, Feb 14, 2011 at 9:42 AM, Watson Kambo <wkwats@gmail.com> wrote:

The day we can all Love-Kenya as the motherland and the same way as it was the right of every kenyan, then that day nothing else will matter. One of the key things to understand what took place in Egypt is that it really was a youth revolution who have no party interests or representations. This seemed very confusing to many who are used to oppostion type of structures. These were young people who love Egypt as their motherland and could no longer take the abuse. The issue is long term about democracy but also about social evils and imbalances. The story of the unrest begins sometime last year when a young grad was dragged from a cyber cafe while on social networks, beaten and at some point died. He represented the face of the revolution, just like the young-out-of-work street seller grad of Tunisia who set himself on fire when harassed and beaten by the authorities, as he could see no more reason to live such a life. It is sad that lives are lost in the name of change. So the day We Can Love Kenya is the day Kenya will have a better future for everyone. A very amatuer view as am no specialist on such matters. Asante. :-)

I am looking forward to the day that we stop trying to copy Egypt and any other fashionable country in something fashionable that we saw on TV. Well, we saw them cleaning out their streets, how about we start that , on February 28, lets clean up as much rubbish as we can, then sing the national anthem afterwards. Lets not look for a 'feel good' solution. Egypt was not easy, 300 people died
