Edward, I can assist you. The guy can pay me at www.payoneer.com then I can withdraw the cash for you from an ATM here if you are in a rush, or if not, you can apply at the website for a debit card which you can accept payments from debit & credit cards. I use it all the time and the monthly charges are also very low. Go and checkout the website, but if you need help right away, I can assist you and you only pay the charges. ./Ok3ch Sent from my iPad On Dec 30, 2010, at 9:55, edward mayaka <emayaka@gmail.com> wrote:

On that note, could someone please update us on the following (since it seems like these banks keep on dishing out services and them withdrawing them without notice): 1. Can the Equity bank Debit card/ATM card be used for online purchases? 2. Can the Co-op bank Debit card/ATM card be used for online purchases? 3. Which of the above (Equity & Coop) allow transfer of funds from paypal to bank account? Please answer the above if you are currently doing it and don't give us third party gossip! The last time someone on this list told us that KCB debit/ATM cards can be used for internet purchases, I went and opened an account and was later told that the service had been disabled (please note that I am not talking about their prepaid cards, but the kawaida debit cards that have the Visa logo). So please think very hard before you answer the above. Claire. On 12/30/10, Okechukwu <okechukwu@gmail.com> wrote:

Claire, I use Co-op Visa Debit to make purchases. I've used Equity one too. I experienced what Kiti mentioned with Co-op and I called them. It's working fine now. As for withdrawing money from Paypal to a bank account, that is not possible in Kenya yet, as far as I know. It is in some countries but Kenya is not one of them. But all is not lost (being dissed by Paypal). There can be a way around with Moneybookers or 2Checkout. On Thu, Dec 30, 2010 at 5:19 PM, Kiti Chigiri <kiti.chigiri@gmail.com>wrote:

The Co-op Debit card can be used for online purchases and one gets automated SMS notifications after every transaction. If a transaction is denied call the Card Centre on 020 277 6000 2010/12/30 Samuel Waithaka <samwaithaka@gmail.com>

On that note, could someone please update us on the following (since it seems like these banks keep on dishing out services and them withdrawing them without notice):

@ claire, it was a kawaida Equity Debit card * If the human brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn't. - Emerson M. Pugh *

@claire the KCB general purpose card is a debit card...it's not even tied to any "real" bank account per se. Signing up is 1k cash, one passport photo and your ID and it's ready in 5 working days. I've used it numerous times on all kinds of sites (paypal/g-checkout) without a problem...and you can use it at an ATM to withdraw the cash therein. Upon registration you are also linked to the *522# ussd app for mini statements and the like, and you get an SMS notification every time a debit is made whether online or via ATM.

@Claire - it's not the kawaida debit card ... It's a prepaid card.. Brian On Mon, Jan 3, 2011 at 5:56 PM, Claire Njoki <clairenjoki@gmail.com> wrote:

I & M Visa Pre paid Nakumat card is available Immediately ( if you transact withing bank working hours) otherwise, they process it the following business day Wycliffe On Wed, Jan 5, 2011 at 2:35 PM, Claire Njoki <clairenjoki@gmail.com> wrote:
