Hi Guys, I'm trying to make some log files accessible to someone on my web server. I have made the folder containing the files the home directory, so when he accesses the server's IP via HTTP he can get a directory listing of the files contained therein. But upon clicking on a single file in the listing, the web server sends a 404 error page, rather than display the file contents or prompt for download. In a nutshell, the directory listing displays but the files in the directory remain inaccessible. I have given browse, read (and even execute) permissions on the folder in IIS to the IUSR anon web user but still nothing seems to be happening. I'm running the version that comes with Windows 2003 Server. Saidia Ohhh Saidia. Shukran and Happy Eid Mubarak to all skunkers and skunkettes. Me.

Even before you do anything remove immediately the write and execute permissions. Nothing but grief can come of this. Also you need to configure IIS is configured to serve the log files. I think by default it won't On Tue, Nov 16, 2010 at 12:20 PM, Simon Mbuthia <simon.mbuthia@gmail.com>wrote:

Thanks Rad. It was the Mime type for the log files that wasn't listed. There was no write permissions either. Thanks anyway. On 16 November 2010 12:32, Rad! <conradakunga@gmail.com> wrote:
