Hi Skunks, I am wondering what applications others might be using as mailing/distribution lists on the windows platform.I was investigating Google groups but it requires one to sign in with a Gmail account to read mails on the list .Has anyone had any luck with other applications that will allow all subscribed users to also read the list irrespective of their email address domains? Please share your ideas. ------------------------------------------- Thanks and Regards! Aliata D. You looked into this in detail or just cursorily? I ask that because you are wrong! Googlegroups accept _any_ email address and dispatches to them. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler.

Microsoft outlook can also work but you have to store the emails in a separate notepad in t heir right format. You can also use the Mail merge feature should you want to send the same email to different guys with a personal touch. And yes google groups accept any email address but you the creator must have an account with gmail. Mutheu. On Wed, Feb 13, 2013 at 10:32 AM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

Googlegroups will work great with any non-google email accounts so long as you stick to the mailing functions. At some point, you may get the natural bias to use the other services in the google eco-system such as Googledrive and Googleshare.Take note that any document shared to the *group account* via such WILL NOT be accessible to non-google-email accounts. Tony.

Thank you Wash for that correction. On Wed, Feb 13, 2013 at 10:32 AM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

I believe a Google account is quite different from a Gmail account. You can turn a non-Gmail account into a Google account, by signing it up to one of their services, if I am not wrong. By using these services, your account henceforth becomes a Google account and subject to their terms, and conditions. A Google account can choose to use Googl's mail servers or retain a different server.

@Kioko, I'll try tinkering with my Yahoo email account later on; to have it signed for GoogleDrive/GoogleDocs service. I guess that the last time I tried that I must have been prompted to supply only a Gmail address.
