Can't the CCK jus' get the mobile money registration information from the service providers? *(Or do they need a court order which might be a bit of a hassle for them?)* 2013/1/2 Joseph Tintale <jayxtintale@gmail.com>

@Michael, Are you losing focus of why the SIM Card registration is required? The exercise is meant to ensure that unregistered SIM Cards cannot be used for criminal purposes. Digest that. Anyone who has validly registered their SIM Card will not want to use that in criminal acts. Not all SIM cards in use are registered. I just wonder, cant they deactivate the sim cards by now and anyone who wishes to go back on will need to get a new sim and register it before recovering the previous number? Gicheru On Wed, Jan 2, 2013 at 2:42 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

The catch is very simple Martin. Tasking a parent to throw away their child's functional piggy-bank is an act of faith ala Abraham vs. Isaac scenario. The OpCo's have all to gain in maintaining those unregistered accounts in active state. Revenue brother, revenue. It's all about the bottom line. If only CCK was to be the 'implementer' of the switch-off!!! ION : I've resulted to the following two strategies to keep my unregistered lines active for a bit longer. - Maintaining some positive account balance - Maintaining some negative account balance (Okoa Jahazi's and the like)
