These technolgy is called short code.you send an Number and wait for response. you must hv an agreement with the service providers eg for safaricom you pay 75,000 and a monthy change of 10,000 to use their gateway.you can use another option you buy bulk sms you at cheaper rate then you can send to any one. Hello Vee Its possible to achieve both by having a shortcode(xxxx eg 2010) or a normal number (07xx xxx xxx) them the sent/received sms can be managed on a pc/laptop wich has access to internet through a PRSP(Premium Rate Service Provider), of course you can receive the smses in your phone then sent to a db stored by the PRSP or vise versa The PRSP can and almost always gives you an front-end where you can manage your smses.

I asked whether he has anything other than the phone and the PC and he said that was just it... No 4 digit code, just the number he kept repeating to his listeners.
