Best 3G wireless access point for 2-3 developers

As some of you know, I'm now in a different office and the Internet is even worse here than old place :-/ Anybody have a suggestion for the best 3G wireless access point solution along Ngong Rd? Since people talk so well about Orange unlimited, why don't you try it out with a DIR-412? Getting an Huawei E-160 is 2k, plus about 4k for the DIR-412. That combo is good for I think 10/20 people - router's limitation. When you say the best 3G Wireless AP solution along Ngong Rd, I am a bit lost though.... Safaricom/Airtel/Orange all work for me - on Naivasha Rd though. Wait, I thought 88mph had excellent fiber connectivity, with AK failover. Good suggestions. I already have the Orange dongle so will just get the D-Link wireless router and plug it in there. Can the Safaricom dongle be plugged into the D-Link too so I can switch back and forth if necessary? I was just wondering if anybody had obvious problems with one of the three mobile providers along Ngong rd but I imagine that all three are about the same in that area. The coworking spaces have fine Internet for periods of time but then it entirely drops out. The variability is what's frustrating. I'd rather have a consistent 1Mb connection than oscillating between 128Kb and 5Mb and totally down with 1,000ms latencies. -- Kili.io - OpenStack for Africa: kili.io Musings: twitter.com/varud <https://twitter.com/varud> About Adam: www.linkedin.com/in/adamcnelson On Sat, Oct 19, 2013 at 12:08 AM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

I do have the orange router, have never considered it but I believe it should be possible. Everything Operator related is in the modem, the router is just an Orange branded wireless AP. On Sat, Oct 19, 2013 at 11:52 AM, Adam Nelson <adam@varud.com> wrote:

The router takes all - Safaricom, Orange, Airtel..... issue is you'll mostly have to login to change the dial string and or APN when you swap mode/carriers.

No comment on that. I am off Ngong Rd.But not too far from 88mph. About 5km. That's significant as BS cells have changed though.

True. So sad they can't fix it. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 "I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler."

Mine works with all(EVDO(CDMA) and 3G) and i don't change anything..everything is automatic..just connect your dongle and wait a few secs. On Sat, Oct 19, 2013 at 9:31 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:
