So my new laptop has Vista and Outlook 2007. i was trying to set my email up and when it came to defining server, I went ahead and placed the info that I have - server name and my name... Error comes: "The name cannot be resolved. The microsoft exchange server is unavailable. Outlook must be connected or online to complete this action." - OK. Then it says "cannot open your default mail folders. the file c:\users\Al Kags\Appdata\Local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst" is not an offline folder file." Then it closes. When I reopen outlook, I go through the same. Tried to follow the instructions for a workaround as per this MSFT site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913843 problem is, in my registry there is no RPC in here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\RPC !!!!
