I've pulled data out of many Windows machines using Ubuntu installed on a 4GB flash drive. Some non-accessible hard drives need one or two terminal commands, though. http://www.pendrivelinux.com/usb-ubuntu-904-persistent-install-windows/ Please note that the tutorial content above has changed since I last used it, so results may vary. I'm assuming that the Dell gives you the option to boot from a usb device at startup. Asante. Erick On Wed, Mar 31, 2010 at 1:53 AM, Samuel Waithaka <samwaithaka@gmail.com>wrote:
Hi guys,
Need some help, my operating system crashed and I can't repair it coz the ROM drive doesn't work. I cannot access the hard disk using serial port since it's an old model laptop (my brother told me) :/... I really need to get some stuff/work off the hard disk ASAP. What quick options do it have? Please help
Kind regards,
