@Wash...might I ask what the personal reasons are for not using Debian. I am a debian user for the last 3 or 4 years and not had a problem. Perhaps its coz I look for functionality rather than beauty of the OS's interface. I think any debian based linux flavor can do for you what you want and ofcourse as the votes show Ubuntu is the top deb based flavor of choice.
