@Wash...might I ask what the personal reasons are for not using Debian. I am a debian user for the last 3 or 4 years and not had a problem. Perhaps its coz I look for functionality rather than beauty of the OS's interface. I think any debian based linux flavor can do for you what you want and ofcourse as the votes show Ubuntu is the top deb based flavor of choice. With the mindset that debian is behind it and you mention you don't want to go debian, I'd like to know the reason for the avoidance of debian.
