for folks who might find themselves in a similar situation and you dont have the hirens cd with you, you can boot with a windows XP cd and choose the option to repair installation. Then during installation, press "Shift + F10" you will be taken to a command prompt, type "control userpasswords2" and from there u can reset the admin password or any other password of users in the system.
