I can't believe Kenyans think Swahili is cumbersome and impractical!! I'm not the most fluent Swahili speaker but I blame it on excessive emphasis on English in our education system. I remember we used to be punished with the dreaded "disc" if we were caught speaking Swahili by our primary school teachers. Way to promote the national language! I still think Swahili is a good language, it's just that most of us are poor at it. So I commend Google for trying to promote it to us (or force it upon us, whichever way you look at it) -- Shiro Njagi The idea is to write it so that people hear it and it slides through the brain and goes straight to the heart. ~~Maya Angelou~~
