Team, This is true, I think the most important thing is to hook up the internship. You may end up actually impressing the employer and they wish to take you on. Then you bargain for better pay since you have an upper hand. It will even save you the trouble of hunting for jobs with no experience. I think the main focus always should be the opportunity. I have had to call two interns back for employment since they showed a total willingness to learn through the hardship times, by even creating positions for them which never existed. Advise to interns, take whatever you are given, even if it is zero, for you have no idea what impressions you will leave behind. This is how I would look at it, if you start a business you mostly pump in cash for a while at times years before getting serious returns.
