Their current measure is that the noise must not be heard from 30 metres from the originating building or vehicle or person - have no idea how many Db's this is but I think they will stand 30metres and if they hear you, you are in shit.

So they will be walking with a tape measure, because realistically, it is impossible to argue with the NEMA guys even if you were 100 metres away, they will still claim you were 10 metres away.
What if you are out of the 30 metres range and your voice Db is high? Exactly how many Db are they targeting, or it's a blanket assumption!

and who was Nema targetting? Are they going to go around using devices similar to breath analysers or speed detectors and have these sound Db meters been verified and gazetted as devices used by the agency?
Ama, Nema will use staff " EARS " to verify noise levels, but this traditional tools will be highly inaccurate. Nation page 5 carries a story of threats of arresting people. My question is, on WHAT basis are they carrying out the threats and using WHAT tools?
Haiya, all Subaru vehicle owners, watch out that the exhaust booosters that you have in your cars do not fall into this category. The boosters are considered legal in many countries as they fall within a certain noise range.
Who will exploit another law meant to " tame " kenyans noisy habits....... :-)

I was also asking myself the same question. How many DB are considered as noise? Although Nairobi had become a market place in the recent times, the NEMA law is somewhat obscure because the mechanisms have not been exhausted fully.
