I don't think Equity has anything to loose, its not like its their core business and since safaricom is constantly trying to get a footing into the banking industry we need a company that will bring some real competition to safaricom. On a technical side of things how does the thin SIM really work? Does it allow the host SIM to interact directly to the phone or it acts like a proxy or a man in the middle? If its the latter then I do see Safaricom's security concerns. In my opinion going head to head with Safaricom will be disastrous. Lots of money will be wasted. Go for the guys neglected by Safaricom. Online, small transfers, etc. I would focus on mobile money and nothing else. Neglect voice, data etc.
