At first it sounds like a good idea ....but A larger battery requires more specialized electronics to manage To successfully hack what you are talking about requires moar effort than going to the shop to buy a real inverter Its alot moar safer to simply buy an inverter...espeially if you lack significant electronic/electrical engineering knowledge There is a REASON WHY THEY BUILD UPSes and there is a reason WHY THEY BUILD INVERTERS By the way, a UPS is a small scale inverter _______________________________________________ *#define TRUE FALSE* //Happy debugging suckers! _______________________________________________ * * 2011/7/26 David Kiania | Asentric Consulting Ltd <kianiadee@gmail.com>
Sometime ago I think I saw a thread where we were discussing how we can ensure there's elec even during rationing. I have heard some excellent ideas around how you can retrofit a UPS with External batteries to create an inverter with better uptimes.
Have anyone done it practically? and could you please post a howto. Think this would come in very handy in the season starting tomorrow.
Thx
