At first it sounds like a good idea ....but A larger battery requires more specialized electronics to manage

To successfully hack what you are talking about requires moar effort than going to the shop to buy a real inverter
Its alot moar safer to simply buy an inverter...espeially if you lack significant electronic/electrical engineering knowledge

There is a REASON WHY THEY BUILD UPSes
and there is a reason WHY THEY BUILD INVERTERS

By the way, a UPS is a small scale inverter

Sometime ago I think I saw a thread where we were discussing how we
can ensure there's elec even during rationing. I have heard some
excellent ideas around how you can retrofit a UPS with External
batteries to create an inverter with better uptimes.

Have anyone done it practically? and could you please post a howto.
Think this would come in very handy in the season starting tomorrow.
