
had the same issue on an imac...after upgrade failed but restored to factory osx. try reinstaling previous os but if its under warranty should be covered if its a hardware issue but for spares takes 3 to 4wks or even more depending on where u purchased it. I don't think installing any software on the Mac voids your warranty so bootcamp, Unix, etc on the Mac should be perfectly legal. I believe warranty is usually on hardware. Software can be reinstalled.
