Who's your Insurance company? I use AIG and all they'd have required me to do is to produce the damaged phone before the claims officer and fill a claim form. If the damage is not obvious - like a hardware problem that requires an expert, all I need is to get an Electronics Technician to write a report to them. I take this report and the phone to the claims officer, fill a claims form and walk away. Within 5 days I get the amount insured/claimed (minus 25% or 5K, whichever is higher) paid to me by chq or bank tx!
