Pple, I have a strange problem with my Huawei GPRS Modem (Zain-UG).When I use it in my laptop, the software installs well and i can access Skype and sometimes GoogleTalk (rarely), but I cannot connect to any other site (with IE or Mozilla). My main concern is that when I connect it to other computers/laptops, it connects to any site despite our network configurations/setup being similar. When I do an IP Config on my laptop, this is what I get; I have tried to contact their customer support but has not been helpful so far, what could be the problem? any assistance....please. Hi Beatrice, In your original post, I missed the output of the ipconfig. Anyway, does traceroute/ping to those inaccessible destinations work from the CLI? Could you be running an antivirus with a firewall which creates conflicts? Hallo Beatrice As Odhiambo said, check with your firewall as well make sure port 80 is not being blocked.Also try a reboot and see if that helps cause remember Skype causinga similar issue on my end.What anti virus are you using?Kaspersky has its own firewall so you have to add some applications to the trusted zone.

Profile manager Click New
Check static option APN: ug.celtel.com or ke.celtel.com depending your are using which sim-card
Authentication
Access number *99#

I'm also having the same kind of a problem with my Zain Kenya modem. Since yesterday, I've tried using the modem on my laptop but I can't go online. The taskbar icon that shows internet connectivity, is blue with a yellow icon. On placing my mouse over the icon, it says limited connection. On using the modem on a PC in the same environment, it works perfectly well without any hitches. Apparently, the settings on the laptop have not been changed. Any help on this?
