I am just wondering...are there any people on this list who use Yu and if so, how is the data service? Also how is the customer service, quality of service, etc...Basically, how is Yu in general? I they are good, on April 1st 2011, I might just switch to them once number portability is enabled... ...they seem like the underdog and I admire underdogs...they try harder. Claire.

I have a YU line. Right now as I type this, my phone is in the house. I do not carry it. Call drops galore. As for data, I'm not sure, but I'd be really really surprised - shocked actually - if it were any good. I'm not hating, just being tooooo honest. That's interesting Collins. I hope you did your homework well. I've been on the CDMA network from the time they rolled out. Forget about roaming and International SMS when you get on board. The biggest downside for me has been lack of international SMS on the network. I've since stopped sending my numerous suggestions to Telkom/Orange. In any case, for me, competition has supplemented on these shortcomings.

Well, CDMA still remians the cost effective data option, As for safaricom, most of my calls in the last two days either dont go through or have been spend asking what the other guy just said As for Yu, I once tried their service a few years ago, and basically worked Ok as long as I did not attempt to access data anywhere past KU. YuCash should work on any Kenyan sim Card

my personal opinion: *Best in Voice* | Airtel (untill portability checks in), second best, EVDO (cause there is hardly anyone using those switches anyway). *Best in Data* | EVDO. 3G on orange rocks, so does its pricing. * Best in costing (Voice)* | Yu, but then again, their ridiculous offers are as much worth as their services. Second Best, Airtel, Third, EVDO. *Best in Coverage*: QueenBee, second Airtel ??? Third, EVDO. *Best in Customer care*: None. * Worst in customer care*: QueenBee, followed by, YU, then maaany others then finally, EVDO. *Device compatibility:* This is the only place EVDO does not stand strongly, but im convinced the new age smartphones support several bands, hopefully this will not be as bad an issue then. my 2.99cnts. What operator was the other phone on? If it was on safaricom the same would happen. Calls to and from safcom are just bad lately.

Hi guys, Like in any other network, these QoS metrics will vary on location and population. I've been on the Yu network for two years now and am yet to experience issues that can make me opt out.
