Happy New Year Skunks, Now I have encountered an issue with Linux Mint "Cinammon" where it claims it does not have enough disk space. It's on dual boot with Windows 8. I have tried using Gparted to format a 300gig partition to ext4 then have the 4GB allocated to mint "extend" to it(and vice versa). That way Mint would have 304GB. Is there any way of making the linux partiton get to the 300gig? Or do I have to get rid of mint? Thanks in advance.
It is possibe under Gparted to merge the two, but that would take you a loong time, considering the disk sizes we are talking about. Why not just delete the two partitions (which would effectively merge them to one huge "unallocated" space of 304GB) then re-install mint all over again on the 304 gig partition. Alright, I've run into another problem.. I googled how to uninstall linux from dual boot and used the method on Lifehacker.com. The first problem I ran into was the partition appeared as "free space" as opposed to "unallocated", even after multiple deletes. I rebooted the comp and now i have the following "error: unknown filesystem(on the 1st line) grub rescue>(on the last line).. What happens now? Okay, the steps taken as of an hour ago were: 1. Run linux from a flash disk 2.) Install it an gave it almost 200gig.(This brought a gurb error but after several "re-installs" it succeeded). I was able to boot into windows 8 and it was alright. As we speak the grub error is now back and I am lost on how to solve it.
