Kenyan Techies Q & A site

Hi guys, I would like you to try this project i've been working on. It's a Q&A forum for techie's, sort of like stack overflow. the url is http://kentechie.com would like some feedback. thanks.

Seriously? Before you ask for feedback probably start by trying explaining what you are trying to achieve here. Does there have to be a Kenyan version of every kind of website out there? Or is Stack exchange and the tonnes of the other stack look alike sites not up to your standards? At this point I think I have seen it all. ----- Original Message ----- | From: "Bosco Mutung'a" <boscomutunga@gmail.com> | To: skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke | Sent: Monday, May 21, 2012 5:33:21 PM | Subject: [Skunkworks] Kenyan Techies Q & A site | Hi guys, | I would like you to try this project i've been working on. | It's a Q&A forum for techie's, sort of like stack overflow. | the url is http://kentechie.com | would like some feedback. | thanks. | _______________________________________________ | Skunkworks mailing list | Skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke | ------------ | List info, subscribe/unsubscribe | http://lists.my.co.ke/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/skunkworks | ------------ | Skunkworks Rules | http://my.co.ke/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=94 | ------------ | Other services @ http://my.co.ke

You realise this is offlist :) The site is great. Sell the idea to young guys, esp those in campo and colles. You will hook them before stack does. And you are right, there is substantial demand for Kenyan (local) content. For instance, I think questions regarding ideos stand a better chance here than stack. Kentechie... immediately thought Kentucky Fried Chicken...and its not even midday... On a serious note though, I think you may be onto something. Would you consider getting another domain name, and broaden the topics, make it a portal for various professionals in their line items offering solutions challenges to their industry peers. So instead of people Googling those questions, they come to your site Something akin to Quora.com or Focus.com We know how Google Baraza <http://www.google.com/baraza/en/?pli=1> hasn't quite taken off, Yahoo answers <http://answers.yahoo.com/>, Ask<http://www.ask.com/>and the like, so there has to be an element of control to reduce trolls. I know kenyans are known to be selfish with information, that being their industry edge, however to build a knowledge economy vis a vis vision 2030 access to information both formal and informal is a must. The challenges businesses face in this region in each industry as you mention are unique and the solutions are unique too. I can already see questions like: How do I set up Facebook ads for my business? How do I register a company? How do I buy stocks? How do we form a chama? How do I ship in something from Dubai etc My thoughts. On Tue, May 22, 2012 at 10:30 AM, mail2lawi <mail2lawi@gmail.com> wrote:

Coming to think of it, it will be interesting to see this app donated to Skunkworks and have members create accounts for a test run. The content will be freshly local, eeh? Martin. On 5/22/12, William Warero <wwarero@gmail.com> wrote:
