Not sure either, have never rooted a Play book. Wouldn't really encourage it.

what I was asking was which manufacturer would be interested in using blackberry os when they have their own? I don't think there will be a scramble for it. Ave used the Playbook before and its awesome hardware n software. On 1/6/12, Martin Chiteri <martin.chiteri@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Mark I believe RIM has relized that they are lossing the market a bit fast and by licesing their OS to 3rd parties they can continue to generating revenues to their past customers who ahevgone to androids, windows and iphones. How? For example I would buy BBM app on my android just to continue enjoying communicating 'securely' to my BBM contacts which I had before migrating to Android. I think this will also give people who have never used a BB chance to get a taste of BB features and this might translate to future BB sales. I believe RIM could boost BB sales by lifting or reducing the cost CAL and BES licenses than licensing BB OS to third parties which reduces the from a fully fledged phone provider to another mobile application developer! They are doomed I believe. Just my two cents! On 1/6/12, Mark Mwangi <mwangy@gmail.com> wrote:

@geoffrey n @ jack, I don't think am a hater of blackberry seeing as I have owned several of their handsets namely the 8830 and some other more obscure one. Its an awesome platform but felt rather limiting for me so I bailed. I think the major problem they have is loosing the coolness factor and their pricey tag. Why is a bold still in the 30k range? is it justifiable? ok maybe am a hater but for my needs and most of the people I know not hooked up to a corporate network, iOS, android and windows phone are superior. for the mass market anyway. Mark i think you have a particular hatred towards black berry :) ... hahaha but for real i wouldn't mind it , as i said if you have a blackberry without the enterprise solution then what you have is a phone ..if you have the enterprise solution then that makes all the difference, anyways just look up their products and services On Fri, Jan 6, 2012 at 5:18 PM, Mark Mwangi <mwangy@gmail.com> wrote:
