Hi Guys, I recently deployed the above mentioned. On one end, a VSAT link (512Kbps by iWay) on static IP on a /30 subnet i.e (2 public IPs, one for the modem and the second for a PC running Ubuntu Server/Zentyal eBox Platform running as the LAN "gateway". On the other end a Cisco 1900 series router on a Safaricom 512Kbps dedicated link. My question is, has anyone on the forum implemented an IPSec tunnel over VSAT before? I am very much aware of the expected latency as far as shooting a signal "halfway into space and back" is concerned but any tips or pointers to optimize responsiveness (which is slugish at the moment) of the said tunnel that is exclusively running Remote Desktop Protocol will be highly appreciated. Cheers. ---------- Sent via My Mobile Device

If you are not paranoid about security, run GRE tunnel instead. Better still try citrix. Ipsec on a satellite hop is a bad idea unless security is key. -----Original Message----- From: skunkworks-bounces@lists.my.co.ke [mailto:skunkworks-bounces@lists.my.co.ke] On Behalf Of njungelloyd@gmail.com Sent: Monday, July 30, 2012 9:48 PM To: Skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke Subject: [Skunkworks] VPN over VSAT Hi Guys, I recently deployed the above mentioned.
