Hello skunk(s)ettes. Im sure every right thinking skunker has something planned for "this big technology" and grand ideas of how they are going to break the barriers by some innovation of sorts. I have been considering setting up an ad server service and would like to know if anyone here has done anything like this. The concept looks easy from my perspective. --> Almost everyone i know has a website they are hoping to monetize someday, catering to some unique market segment. Some big, some small. --> This service collects (pools) these websites, arranged according to the categories. Each webmasters selects a zone where served ads will appear. --> The service approaches advertisers to advertise on a broad spectrum of zones. and pay according to agreed terms. --> the service then pays the webmasters using some mobile money transfer of sorts, from as low as Ksh 100. Check out www.openx.org to get a better picture of this: Id love to hear your comments / critique / suggestions.

Great...av been exploring this for some time. To me it's a thumb up! On Fri, Oct 9, 2009 at 10:11 AM, Areba Collins <arebacollins@gmail.com> wrote:

I had thought of something similar some time ago, but lacked the time and energy to pursue it. I was looking at openads (before it became openx.org). Sounds good and viable.. though you might need to work with an ad firm. Keep in mind that google could be your biggest competitor :) Josiah -- Josiah Mugambi Ogden Nash <http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/o/ogden_nash.html> - "The trouble with a kitten is that when it grows up, it's always a cat." Thanks josiah, im exploring how such a system can be used to deliver rewards from a very small amount, lower than it would cost google to operate. Anyone from an AD agency here? On 10/9/09, Josiah Mugambi <jmugambi@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi, my uncle wanted to set up one a while back. I considered using openads then because it was and i guess it still is the best ad server. This project is a very good project, go for it!

How did it go with your uncle? Id love to know how its performance went. On 10/11/09, Clement Ongera <cnongera@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Areba, Sorry I just did it as a showcase for him, but He could't come up with the investment money so this "idea" failed and at the same time(excuses) I was in college, exams... I'd like to do it all over again if you are interested.
