Hi guys, I hope you are fine.Where can I get a quote for a central UPS to support 70 computers, 4 servers, 3 switches and 2 routers and 10 printers? What capacity is needed and how much? Thanks

Hello Murenga, 70 computers, 4 servers, etc is not the best way to size a UPS. Do some googling and you'll discover that you need the individual power ratings for each of those equipment, in Watts. You can get the total of that, and head to the Internet again for those calculators used to size a UPS. There are some factors used in the sizing calculation. Most importantly would be how long you'd want to have the equipment running in case there is power failure... Looking at all those equipment,I suggest you talk to Chloride Exide or any other reputable company that does* Inverters*.... Be meticulous when doing the calculation, unless you have compromises to make. On 3 February 2014 16:26, Yvonne Murenga <yvymurenga@gmail.com> wrote:

Just to backup Wash, Inverters should be the most effective, I am also making an assumption that your power cabling is isolated at the Power Distribution Board <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distribution_board> otherwise you may need to do some wiring just to make sure you only backup the circuits which are running your computer equipment. Also, make sure you get references from the supplier/installer and a maintenance SLA. 2c D On Mon, Feb 3, 2014 at 6:20 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

The best approach to do this is to have an inverter with enough batteries to sustain the whole office for at least 6 to 8 hour on power outage. It also provides you with clean power for your machines. A UPS might not work in your case as it means you start a server room full of UPSs which drain on over load easily and wear off so fast. I have a guy called Okewa, he is one of the best electrical consultants this side of sahara. talk to him on 0722619716 and he can assist you design a good plan for your clean power.. Call robert: 0722 481 312. He's an engineer who actually custom-builds highly efficient inverters, and charges a surprisingly decent rate, and know's where to get some brief-case sized-and-shaped zero-maintenance lead-acid batteries. He can assess your requirements and give you a quote. On Mon, Feb 3, 2014 at 6:31 PM, Denis G. Wahome <dwahome@gmail.com> wrote:

Sounds like you need more of those automatic generators than a UPS... Just saying.. On Feb 3, 2014 4:26 PM, "Yvonne Murenga" <yvymurenga@gmail.com> wrote:
