Hi All, A quick question. Has anyone got or used a Starmax computer from these Starcom guys? If so, please let me know how well they perform. Are they reliable? durable? Basically, would it be a good buy? -- Regards, Brian Ngure
Brian, I would have bought a starmax computer and then i would have used it. this would have resulted in me getting an impression then i would have given you my judgement but i cant. I went in to buy some blanks (CDs) one very early morning and the guy who usually hovers around dressed in a suit and tie(usually) was rude enough to point out that buying 5 CDs would not make him get up. I told him, " but they are right here", a bit shocked that this was a man in business. To which he retorted, " you can wait for the attendants or you can walk out". See Brian, i would have bought the CDs then maybe some other time i would have come back for the big pricey Starmax. but you see Brian, i had no option but to assume from then henceforth that such a shop does not exist. So now i am sorry Brian, i cannot even come close to giving you a review of the Starmax computer. Guys, Now that you started this. Has any one been to BestSell. There is this lady there who is quite rude loud and big too. I often keep away from this place. I rather like Starcom. The attendants are pretty helpful. But the bossman on the other hand. smh!!! Is it so hard to get some much deserved customer service in NBO And do not get me started with Bloomerg. If you went to get an item, and did not have a clue to the price and these guys catch a whiff of your ignorance? They hike the prices like 2 fold. Its unfortunate. Really!!! @Dan, I totally feel you on this. Quite a large number of people in business complain of low business activity and usually blame it on the "state of the economy" but lets face it there are many examples of poor attitude by the business owners reps towards the client. Let me give three bad examples that keep recurring; 1. Calling support and hearing shouting, laughter in the background. 2. The type of service you are talking about from various "I.T" shops. FYI, far the best service i have got is from A-to-Z sales. 3.Waiting for a waiter in a restaurant to finish with a personal call to take my order. @Brian I am not sure how much is your budget but i can assure you are better of with a HP of Dell(HP my preference). Not only can you actually research from numerous forums and review of a product before you actually purchase it but, you also have access to drivers, firmware and software updates that are reliable. @Dan, I totally feel you on this. Quite a large number of people in business complain of low business activity and usually blame it on the "state of the economy" but lets face it there are many examples of poor attitude by the business owners reps towards the client. Let me give three bad examples that keep recurring;
1. Calling support and hearing shouting, laughter in the background. 2. The type of service you are talking about from various "I.T" shops. FYI, far the best service i have got is from A-to-Z sales. 3.Waiting for a waiter in a restaurant to finish with a personal call to take my order.
@Brian I am not sure how much is your budget but i can assure you are better of with a HP of Dell(HP my preference). Not only can you actually research from numerous forums and review of a product before you actually purchase it but, you also have access to drivers, firmware and software updates that are reliable.

Bestsell ya eldi is quite okay; last time i was there, there were 3 cute sales ladies who talked quite nicely to me, served me quite well. But the best experience i've had so far was @ A to Z Technology Solutions in westie, while waiting for my merchandise, I relaxed on a sofa, they served me coffee and surprise surprise, the sales lady there knew stuff about what she was selling; we made small talk about tech stuff, its was really nice. And when my goods arrived, they gave me a few minutes to examine and try it out. And I didn't have to pay for all this niceness coz the item I was buying was like 5k more expensive @ starcom. @Dan, I totally feel you on this. Quite a large number of people in business complain of low business activity and usually blame it on the "state of the economy" but lets face it there are many examples of poor attitude by the business owners reps towards the client. Let me give three bad examples that keep recurring;
1. Calling support and hearing shouting, laughter in the background. 2. The type of service you are talking about from various "I.T" shops. FYI, far the best service i have got is from A-to-Z sales. 3.Waiting for a waiter in a restaurant to finish with a personal call to take my order.
@Brian I am not sure how much is your budget but i can assure you are better of with a HP of Dell(HP my preference). Not only can you actually research from numerous forums and review of a product before you actually purchase it but, you also have access to drivers, firmware and software updates that are reliable.
