UAE to block BlackBerry services on security fears

http://www.cellular-news.com/story/44583.php?s=h An interesting thought. The US were so kind to assist IIEC with blackberries for the referendum. this is Big brother keeping an eye on everything, anythime. And us being so gullible to accept such donation Is Big brother a crafty genius or Are we just being plain needy and stupid

Of course it is Rad! the point is critical info is sent to overseas servers where it can be easily 'harvested'. may be next time when we accept such gifts we can also turn to say, IRAN to wipe out any sniffers that are in the works that favors Big bro :-) On Tue, Aug 3, 2010 at 11:59 AM, Rad! <conradakunga@gmail.com> wrote:

Well, I think we should look at how they actually steal the info. They might do it by sniffing every action we do with the gift devices, a problem whose only solution is not to use the device if we cant afford to share our info, or they can also offer to provide the software itself and claim its secure where we will leave all our trust of security on them. If none of this is valid and we are guaranteed that they cant go sniffing on data on the devices RAM, then the best solution will be to come up with our own cryptographic software solution to provide the functionality using the devices. But well that might not really help because the time the gifts came in gave no time for anyone to come up with any such solutions. So it leads to the same thing, we are not yet sufficient on our own. But I bet we are our own problem and the best thing to do is try to solve our problem and not start blaming others for I have come to discover this is one of the things that really pulls us down. Trust me on this -- if the US wanted to find out what traffic was moving between ECK HQ and the field, it would. It would not matter if we are using RIM or Safaricom or Yu. The machinery in terms of satellites, computing power, security signals intelligence etc that Obama has at his disposal is formidable indeed. Just do some research on the mandate of the US NSA and the tools and resources it has at its disposal. They don't need to work too hard to access our communication lines. Our police radio network is easily compromised by any ham radio operator. I mean, you see government advertisements in the newspapers with yahoo email addresses for goodness sake! As conspiracy theories go, i wouldn't lose too much sleep over this one. On Tue, Aug 3, 2010 at 12:38 PM, solomon kariri <solomonkariri@gmail.com>wrote:
