Re: [Skunkworks] SA losing to Kenya in tech

This Duncan Macleod guy must be the father of all racists. Very unbalanced article and stabbing us with little provocation.
Dude, how is this article racist? I had read it before seeing your email and nothing stood up as racist, leave alone the father of racist. You need to develop a thick skin for criticism, especially if they are warranted.
He is Linking mpesa success to... "Aided by poor developed formal banking sector"
And "Election violence in 2007 and 2008 not withstanding ...".
If you are being positive, go the long haul
So it can only be yes or no? Nothing in between, not sure how to help.

This is good that we are causing sleepless nights for the Elephant in the room. But is it trickling down to local Teckies. This is how we compare in remuneration. http://businesstech.co.za/news/it-services/39709/competition-heats-up-for-it... I would not hold my breath yet. SA has nuclear power plants well established infrastructure and a mature technical work force. Let us not get excited by Mpesa which is struggling in other markets. We must get the basics right and stop patting ourselves on the back because a mzungu in SA feels threatened by BRCK. SA has a functional National Spatial Data Infrastructure something Kenya has been fumbling with for years with committes that are probably clueless as to what we need to do. This in my opinion is a big weakness on our part what with our land and zoning issues. We are not there yet. On Tuesday, 11 June 2013, Jimmy Thuo wrote:
