Hello good people, I'm looking for the above after I lost my handsfree set...and I'm really missing my music experience while on the move. I've checked in a couple of shops around town this week but wasn't successful; anybody knows where I can find these or a close substitute such as the Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition earphones? Any help much appreciated!!! [image: gsmarena_035.jpg]

Please let me know when you find one. Otherwise, a normal 35mm earphone piece will do if you don't intend to listen to the radio. ________________________________ From: Haggai Nyang <haggai.nyang@gmail.com> To: Skunkworks Mailing List <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> Sent: Fri, December 10, 2010 12:40:13 AM Subject: [Skunkworks] OT: Nokia N97 mini 3.5mm original earphones Hello good people, I'm looking for the above after I lost my handsfree set...and I'm really missing my music experience while on the move. Maybe you can buy the Nokia E72 ones? Are they different?? I have never used mine since I bought the phone. Most earphones refuse to fit into my ear, except some Blackberry ones, which also don't feel quite comfortable. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

What about normal Sony Earphones, with a mic, do they work on phones ama these aint avaialble locally?

@Benard, I used to pair the N95 3.5mm connector with the earplugs from a Sony Ericsson w810i and the audio was good...until the SE end got messed up (one side stopped working) - IMO the N97 mini earphones are very durable and sound better than the w810i's - believe me this was the reason that made me get the mini instead of the bigger N97!! I could use the N95 plugs that I still have but the rubber endings of the N97 mini have much better sound... I don't mind buying rubber earphones from another reputable brand, as long as the audio is up there i.e. excellent frequency response. @Dennis The Sony Ericsson plugs they sell in most shops these days are fakes, don't touch unless you can test. I bought a set this week and the sound is tinny even though the outside finish looks original - I compared with a half-working original set from the w810i I used to have and the difference was phenomenal. They look the same, even when subjected to close scrutiny, but they don't sound the same. I guess I'm just a wannabe audio purist. What about a Nokia shop? Anyone knows if there's any luck there?

What about from Anisuma (Ainsuma?)?

Well, haven't tried Anisuma Traders. Will pass by kesho and see...although this is supposed to be my backup plan in case Nokia becomes an epic fail. Yani there's no ORIGINAL Nokia accessories retailer in Nairobi with all the market share? <gulp>

try MPPS on Mpaka Road Westlands - original Nokia stuff On Fri, Dec 10, 2010 at 1:21 PM, Haggai Nyang <haggai.nyang@gmail.com> wrote:

I haven't been in it but, there is a NOKIA shop at Hilton Hotel, on the Kimathi Street side. Anybody who has checked there? Regards, -- Lusiola Brian |3 R 1 /-\ |\|

@Brian checked the phone shops at Hilton 2 days ago...even the Midcom shop next to The Stanley. No luck! @Alvin MPPS also don't have - had someone pass by this afternoon :(

Why don't you try midcom? They are next to the stanley. On Fri, Dec 10, 2010 at 10:06 PM, Haggai Nyang <haggai.nyang@gmail.com>wrote:

Can't you just use the noise-blocking Creative ear-phones. They have exceptional sound. On Sat, Dec 11, 2010 at 3:05 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

problem with noise cancelling ear phones is that you cant walk around the street in them :-)

Back to this thread...I've looked for them locally to no avail. Someone told me to try and import...but instead I think it's better to go all out and get something durable and high quality that I can comfortably swap between my laptop and phone. Any BOSE retail points around? I know there's a place in Westlands (Mpaka Rd I think) that has a BOSE banner but I've never checked them out...If you know some prices or a direct phone contact that would help a lot. By end of tomorrow my ears must be appeased! :)

I got a TRRS (tip-ring-ring-sleeve) logitech ultimate ears set brought in by someone from Amazon. The sound quality is superb, however, it doesnt work well with most other phones other than the iPhone or the newer iPads, though it works well with computers and other audio devices. it also has call answering button on it.

@Dennis...If I don't succeed kesho with those brands locally I guess I'll just have to use my card and 'Amazon' something to Kenya :)

@Haggai, this might not solve your current need but, a friend of mine showed me a catalogue of 'stuff' available in duty free shops, specifically in london and dubai and I am pretty sure I saw a headphones section, they seemed 'affordable'. I think the easiest way for you to get your hands on these 'stuff' is to know someone who works for an airline :-) On Fri, Dec 17, 2010 at 10:43 PM, Haggai Nyang <haggai.nyang@gmail.com>wrote:
