somebody(kid brother) changed my bios password by mistake and i need help to clear the password .Can somebody give me some hints on how to reset/remove the password without sorting or removing the cmos / jumpers (laptop).Any directions to password changing programs is highly welcome. I'm receiving a message requesting a password to the cmos on a gray screen.

Try photorec or one of its relatives. Where you will find it, I'm sure you'll find the bios password resetter On Tue, May 26, 2009 at 12:43 PM, vada dava <vadavada10@gmail.com> wrote:

There are a few software which can also reset CMOS settings or BIOS password or both within a few clicks. But as stated above you should have access to a system which is turned on and should have access to MS DOS or MS Windows: KillCMOS (requires MS DOS), !BIOS & CmosPwd. Or you can use a Backdoor BIOS Password: Some BIOS manufacturer put a backdoor password in BIOS which always works irrespective of what password you have set in BIOS. Its a master password which is used for testing and troubleshooting purposes. *CHECK WITH MANUFACTURER* AMI BIOS Passwords: A.M.I. OH before i forget, Before attempting to bypass the BIOS password on a computer, please take a minute to contact the hardware manufacturer support staff directly and ask for their recommended methods of bypassing the BIOS security. In the event the manufacturer cannot (or will not) help you, there are a number of methods that can be used to bypass or reset the BIOS password yourself. They include: Please remember that most BIOS passwords do not protect the hard drive, so if you need to recover the data, simply remove the hard drive and install it in an identical system, or configure it as a slave drive in an existing system. The exception to this are laptops, especially IBM Thinkpads, which silently lock the hard drive if the supervisor password is enabled. If the supervisor password is reset without resetting the and hard drive as well, you will be unable to access the data on the drive. *AND*Read your manufacturers documentation for the BIOS setting before you begin typing in passwords.
